DuPage Habitat for Humanity ReStore is Welcoming Volunteers!
***PLEASE READ CAREFULLY***
In order to provide the safest experience for our staff, volunteers and customers we are limiting the amount of volunteer positions available to 3 per shift.
All volunteers will be required to attend an online orientation at: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yBZGUb33SjU&feature=youtu.be. Please arrive 15 minutes early prior to your first shift to go through a safety orientation and store tour.
All volunteers will be be required to fill out the following questionnaire at the start of each shift and get your temperature checked.
If you answer YES to any of the questions below, please DO NOT come in to volunteer and take yourself off the schedule.
- Have you recently felt feverish?
- Do you have a cough or sore throat?
- Have you been experiencing difficulty of breathing or shortness of breath?
- Do you have muscle aches or unusual headaches?
- Have you noticed a loss of taste or smell?
- Have you been experiencing chills or gastrointestinal concerns?
- To the best of your knowledge, has you or anyone in your household had or been in close contact with anyone who has tested positive for COVID-19?

Scope of Position -
- To support the mission by providing customer service – which can include but is not limited to answering questions, finding items and offering suggestions. This would also include loading and unloading donations/purchases, preparing donations for sale and maintaining a clean and safe store.
Position Duties -
- Greet customers upon entry
- Answer customers’ and donors’ questions
- Organize merchandise into like categories
- Dust/clean merchandise, making sure all merchandise is “faced” on the shelf
- Be sure that all items are clearly priced
- Consult with Staff or Lead for pricing based on condition of merchandise or on date of receipt
- Execute signing & merchandising direction from staff & leads
- Keep aisles safe and clear. Sweep the floor for safety and appearance.
- Help inform the customers about ReStore, Habitat for Humanity and volunteerism.
- Replenish items once sold to ensure sales floor is in stock
- Assist customers & donors in loading/unloading vehicles
