DuPage Habitat for Humanity and Hanover Park's Cultural Inclusion and Diversity Committee partner to continue Martin Luther King Jr.’s legacy of volunteerism by making an impact in the Greenbrook Tanglewood neighborhood. This opportunity will focus on painting fences in the neighborhood, improving the exterior, and deepening the sense of pride in the neighborhood.
Volunteers ages 10 - 17 may participate with an accompanying parent or guardian and signed waiver. Parents and guardians of minor volunteers, please register yourself and your child separately and include your name in the Note section upon signing your child up. Covid-19 Safety Precautions
- The safety and health of our volunteers and staff are of the utmost importance to us at DuPage Habitat. With that in mind, we will be taking a temporal scan upon arrival
- Masks will always be required
- No sharing of tools
- Will practice social distancing
- Will sanitize tools at the end of the day
Schedule
- 10:00 AM- 10:30 AM: Arrival, check-in, and health pre-screening
- 10:30 AM – 11:45 AM: Community Clean Up
- 11:45 AM – 12:00 PM: Wrap Up
What to Wear/Bring
- Sturdy, closed-toed shoes
- Hat with a brim/sunscreen
- Water
- Trash pickers (this is optional; please make sure to label them prior to site arrival if you do bring them)
