Neighborhood Revitalization (NR) works with specific communities to identify their needs and establish a plan to address them. It is through partnerships with volunteers, businesses, town officials, faith-based organizations, residents, and many others that Habitat affiliates are able to create and implement a shared vision of transforming neighborhoods.
This project shows the importance of home as it applies to our feathered neighbors - local birds! Volunteers will be partnering with local youth from our NR-focus community at Wagoner Elementary School to build and decorate individual birdhouses. Other activities will include passing out snacks and assisting with clean-up at the end of the activity. Volunteers will receive a T-shirt and lunch on us!
Please have your ID ready to present to the school upon your arrival.
Volunteer Day Schedule
- 8:30 AM: Arrival, check-in, and project overview
- 9:00 AM: Volunteer activities begin
- 12:00 PM: Break for lunch (Lunch is on us!)
- 1:00 PM: Volunteer activities resume
- 2:45 PM: Clean-up and final remarks
Covid-19 Safety Precautions:
Habitat for Humanity prioritizes the health and safety of our staff and volunteers. Currently, we have the following guidelines in place (subject to change based on case levels, as well as CDC, state, and local guidelines):
- We ask that if you aren't feeling well, to please stay home out of precaution
- The school kindly requests that a mask be worn inside the facility
- We encourage volunteers and staff to practice social distancing when possible
In addition, we have implemented the following guidelines to help ensure health and safety on the volunteer site:
- Limited sharing of tools
- Designated individuals to use power tools, to avoid multiple touchpoints
- All tools will be sanitized at the end of the day
