You don't have to pound nails to be part of providing safe, affordable, and decent housing in the Chicago South Suburbs.
Chicago South Suburbs Habitat for Humanity is so excited to announce that we've purchased a building to be the next ReStore in Oak Forest, and we need YOUR help to get it ready for our opening! As ReStore volunteers give their time and effort, more and more resources become available to put toward preparing homes of Habitat partner families. Volunteers are needed cleaning up and prepping the retail spaces and merchandising.
What to Wear/Bring
- Sturdy, closed-toed shoes
- Layers of clothes you can get dirty/paint on (jeans or shorts, t-shirt, jacket)
Covid-19 Safety Precautions:
Habitat for Humanity prioritizes the health and safety of our staff and volunteers. Currently, we have the following guidelines in place (subject to change based on case levels, as well as CDC, state, and local guidelines):
- We ask that if you aren't feeling well, to please stay home out of precaution
- Masks are no longer required; however, we welcome and support anyone that chooses to voluntarily wear a mask
- We encourage volunteers and staff to practice social distancing when possible
In addition, we have implemented the following guidelines to help ensure health and safety on the volunteer site:
- Limited sharing of tools
- Designated individuals to use power tools, to avoid multiple touchpoints
- All tools will be sanitized at the end of the day
